Day 1

After waking up at Marriott, start your DC adventure at the DC Visitor's Information Center in the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center (2 blocks from the White House). Next, walk past the FBI headquarters on your way to visit the newly opened International Spy Museum. The Shakespeare Theatre (202/547-1122) is only a few short blocks away. Round out your day with relaxing dinner at Fogo de Chão (202/347-4668) located in the heart of Washington, DC.

Day 2

The White House Visitor Center (202/456-7041) is a must for learning the rich history of Washington's most famous address. Across the street from the visitor center is the National Aquarium (202/482-2826). Shark feedings are every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00. After, head to The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (202/874-2330) at 14th and Independence. A short walk from there will lead you to The Jefferson Memorial to enjoy paddle boating at Tidal Basin Peddle Boats. Finish the day with a dinner cruise on the Odyssey tour boat (888/741-0281), off the Gangplank Marina and enjoy a great meal while viewing Washington's skyline.

Day 3

Spend a day shopping and visiting DC's diverse and historic neighborhoods. Take Metro to The Fashion Center at Pentagon City Mall (703/415-2400) located next to the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. For even more shopping and a variety of full-service restaurants, walk to adjacent Pentagon Row (703/413-6692). Another short metro ride will take you to the Crystal City Shops (703/922-4636), an underground heaven for shoppers. Finally, journey to Tyson's Galleria (703/827-7700), home to over 120 fine shops and restaurants, located in McLean Virginia, just minutes from the beltway. Finish your day in Georgetown, one of DC's premiere shopping areas. While in Georgetown have a relaxing dinner on Tony and Joe's (202/944-4545) harbor patio.

Day 4

Visit Mount Vernon (703/780-2000), the impressive estate of George Washington, located only 16 miles from DC. On your way, stop in historic Old Town Alexandria and enjoy lunch at The Wharf (703/836-2836) or The Warehouse Bar and Grill (703/683-6868).

Day 5

Discover Washington's unexpected treasures. Start off with a visit to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (202/737-3400) dedicated to officers killed in the line of duty. Next, visit DC's newest memorial-the Women in the Military Memorial at the Arlington National Cemetery. Try Sunday brunch at The Commons in the Smithsonian Castle or, if you'd rather sit back and take it all in, enjoy a fine meal on board The Dandy (703/683-6076).
